Oil prices have again jumped past the US$100 a barrel mark, after the US President announced a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
It comes following failed peace talks between Washington and Tehran over the weekend.
Donald Trump has admitted petrol prices could stay high until the end of the year.
While Iran's chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has mocked the US on social media, telling Americans to enjoy the current prices.
Australia has not been formally asked to help the United States in their planned blockade of the Strait.
