When We Can’t Quite See What’s Happening
“But they urged him strongly, saying, ‘Stay with us…’ (from Luke 24:29)
Sometimes we’re in the middle of something
and don’t fully understand what’s happening.
Jesus was walking with some of his disciples,
but they didn’t recognize him—
because they were overwhelmed by everything that had taken place.
And yet, they stayed together.
They remained open.
They kept talking.
They invited the stranger to stay.
“Stay with us…”
They didn’t let uncertainty close them off
or make them defensive.
And in time,
they recognized him.
And they understood the moment.
Understanding doesn’t come from a defensive posture.
It comes
when we remain together—
open, inviting, and willing to remain.
