SUNDAY - APRIL 12, 2026 "The Word of the Lord"

Published 5 months, 4 weeks ago
Description

A battery mascot that “keeps going” turns into a striking picture of something far more real: the Word of the Lord keeps going. From Acts 19 in Ephesus, we walk through a scene where the gospel advances through extraordinary miracles, exposes counterfeit spiritual power, and produces repentance you can actually see.

We talk about why God works miracles through the Apostle Paul and what Luke wants us to notice most: God is the one acting. Those signs are not party tricks or objects with built-in power, but confirmations that the message about Jesus is truly the Word of God. We also bring the question home for today, when we already have Scripture in our hands: how do we stay more anchored to the Bible than to hype, stories, or spiritual shortcuts?

Then the story gets tense. The sons of Sceva try to use Jesus’ name without knowing Jesus, and the result is both sobering and clarifying. That moment leads into what “the fear of the Lord” really means, why taking the Lord’s name in vain is deeper than careless words, and how reverence shapes the way we speak about Christ. Finally, we see sanctification in motion as believers burn costly magic books, choosing repentance over profit and purity over convenience.

If you want a clearer view of spiritual warfare, Christian discipleship, and why God’s Word prevails, listen now. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review to help more people find the podcast.
