It’s a term that’s used a lot but is often misunderstood. Harvard Business School professor Amy Edmondson, who coined the phrase “team psychological safety”, says it’s the shared belief that it’s OK to take risks, express ideas and concerns, speak up with questions, and admit mistakes — and here’s the important part– without fear of negative consequences.
