A Question of Law – Coercive Control Legislation – Cora Sherlock, Solicitor

Published 1 month ago
Description

Solicitor Cora Sherlock talks about coercive control. How to try to stop this behaviour and abuse and find out ways to address it and to identify it and spot it. In the district courts one of the areas that does come up a lot is the whole area of domestic abuse and how that can be countered and addressed  and stopped through the courts.  Examples of coercive control are when someone experiences being constantly degraded or trying to make them feel less than they are,  all with the intention of controlling them, controlling how they feel about themselves,  it’s constantly diminishing a person and making them feel like they’re nothing.
