Australia secures fuel supply deal with Singapore
Published 2 weeks ago
Description
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is in Singapore to secure Australia's petrol supply during a global fuel crisis, with 55% of Australian petrol coming from Singapore's Jurong Island refining hub. In exchange, Australia will guarantee liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies to Singapore for its electricity system. The two Prime Ministers are signing a good faith agreement to continue fuel shipments without export controls, with each country committing to alert the other of any potential supply changes.
