Ertel Wins Mr. Basketball, Joins Purdue

Luke Ertel, Mount Vernon Highs six-foot-five guard, has been crowned Indiana Mr. Basketball for the 2025-26 season. Hes also the Gatorade Player of the Year and signed with Purdue for the class of 2026. Ertel averaged 24.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game in his senior year, leading the Marauders to a 28-3 record and their first Class 4A state championship. He recently won the three-point contest at the State Farm Slam Dunk and Three-Point Championships. Ertel joins Purdues list of 14 Mr. Basketball winners, adding to the Boilers Midwest dominance on the hardwood.
