Story Transcript:

Sl: V Tivoli Parku je dišalo po pomladi.
En: Tivoli Park was smelling like spring.

Sl: Drevesa so cvetela, ptice so pele, in sonce je svetilo nad Ljubljano.
En: The trees were blooming, the birds were singing, and the sun was shining over Ljubljana.

Sl: Mateja in Luka sta hodila s sošolci na šolski izlet.
En: Mateja and Luka were walking with their classmates on a school trip.

Sl: Učiteljica je govorila, naj se držijo glavnih poti, vendar Matejo ni zanimalo le to.
En: The teacher was saying they should stick to the main paths, but Mateja was not only interested in that.

Sl: Slišala je govorice o redkih rožah, ki se skrivajo globoko v parku, in želela jih je videti.
En: She had heard rumors about rare flowers hidden deep in the park and wanted to see them.

Sl: "Mateja, učiteljica je rekla, da se ne smemo oddaljiti," je opozoril Luka.
En: "Mateja, the teacher said we shouldn't wander off," warned Luka.

Sl: Bil je previden in vedno poslušen, a Matejo je gnala radovednost.
En: He was cautious and always obedient, but Mateja was driven by curiosity.

Sl: Videla je pot, ki se je vila med drevesi, stran od množice.
En: She saw a path winding through the trees, away from the crowd.

Sl: "Luka, prosim, pojdi z mano," je prosila.
En: "Luka, please, come with me," she pleaded.

Sl: "Obljubim, da bova nazaj pravočasno.
En: "I promise we'll be back in time."

Sl: " Luka si je oddahnil, a nato privolil.
En: Luka sighed but then agreed.

Sl: Razumel je, da Mateja ne bo odnehala.
En: He understood that Mateja wouldn't give up.

Sl: Skupaj sta se podala po ozki poti.
En: Together they set off down the narrow path.

Sl: Park je bil tih, le rahel vetrič med krošnjami in vonj po cvetju sta ju spremljala.
En: The park was quiet, with just a gentle breeze among the treetops and the scent of flowers accompanying them.

Sl: Mateja je bila navdušena.
En: Mateja was thrilled.

Sl: Luka je tiho stopal za njo, previden in pozoren na čas.
En: Luka walked quietly behind her, cautious and mindful of time.

Sl: Čez nekaj časa sta prispela do majhne jase.
En: After a while, they reached a small clearing.

Sl: Tam je bilo vse drugače.
En: Everything there was different.

Sl: Cvetlice so bile raznolike in čudovitih barv.
En: The flowers were diverse and beautifully colored.

Sl: "Tukaj so!
En: "There they are!

Sl: Redke rože!
En: The rare flowers!"

Sl: " je vzkliknila Mateja s širokim nasmehom.
En: exclaimed Mateja with a wide smile.

Sl: Občudovala je lepoto okoli sebe.
En: She admired the beauty around her.

Sl: A Luka je pogledal na uro.
En: But Luka checked the time.

Sl: "Morava nazaj," je rekel.
En: "We have to go back," he said.

Sl: "Pogrešili naju bodo.
En: "They will miss us."

Sl: "Mateja je nerada prikimala in skupaj sta pohitela nazaj po poti.
En: Mateja reluctantly nodded and together they hurried back along the path.

Sl: Ob prihodu nazaj so ravno začeli šteti glave.
En: Upon their return, they just started counting heads.

Sl: Učiteljica jih ni pogrešila.
En: The teacher hadn't missed them.

Sl: Tisti večer, pod zvezdnim nebojem, je Mateja sedela ob Luki.
En: That evening, under the starry sky, Mateja sat next to Luka.
