No, it’s not his birthday, but I played a song Redmond Farrar composed last week and I wanted to learn a little more. He was apparently a staff composer for the Regal Record Company and wrote or co-wrote a number of songs, including these:

Segment 4: Lucky Lucky Lucky
Listener Leah from Chicago heard the ID in the middle of the show with “Happy Go Lucky Lane” as the background music. Leah and Mike are part of Chicago’s Premier sweet and hot jazz band, the West End Jazz Band, and although “Happy Go Lucky Lane” is in the band’s repertoire, Leah didn’t recognize the recording, and requested to hear it in its entirety.
