MID WEEK MOTIVATION - April 8, 2026 (Grant Stegall)

Published 6 months ago
Description

A baked potato lunch in Pontotoc, a jam-packed church calendar, and then a sharp turn into one of the most important themes in the Bible: covenant. That’s the flow of this Midweek Motivation Podcast conversation from DeSoto Hills Baptist Church in DeSoto County, Mississippi, where we start with real life and end with real hope.

We walk through what’s coming up at DeSoto Hills, including Impact Sunday, volunteer appreciation, baptisms, a baby dedication, TNT senior adult fellowship, kids and youth choirs, and the Grand Prix work day that helps families get ready to race. We also point you to DeSotoHills.com for event details and open registrations, especially summer camp sign-ups that won’t stay open forever.

Then Pastor Grant Steagall leads our midweek devotional on the Abrahamic covenant, reading Genesis 12:1–3 and explaining why this promise is not something Abraham earns. It’s a gift God initiates. From there we trace the covenant’s themes of land and descendants, and we ask the big question: how does Abraham’s family bless the whole world? Galatians 3 brings the answer into focus. Paul shows that the Mosaic law doesn’t cancel the promise, the law exposes sin, and justification by faith is found in Jesus Christ, the true offspring through whom the nations are blessed. If you’ve ever felt crushed by spiritual performance, this is a reset toward grace, promise, and a faith that rests in what God has done.

Subscribe for more midweek encouragement, share this with a friend who needs a clearer picture of grace vs law, and leave a review so more people can find the podcast.
