Hollywood to Healing Ministry – Dr Christine Mugridge, veteran Vatican reporter

Published 1 month ago
Description

Harry welcomes Dr. Christine Mugridge, theologian, journalist, Vatican press corps veteran and missionary who now lives in Medjugorje. Beginning with the story of how her vocation unfolded, she describes working in the Hollywood entertainment industry in her twenties, caring for her best friend Cindy who was dying of cancer, and hearing the voice of Christ in the hospital room telling her that the life he was touching most profoundly was hers.

She traces her journey through grief, the loss of her parents in a car accident at eighteen, her doctoral studies in theology and communications, nearly a decade reporting from the Vatican for EWTN and others, and eventually her discovery of healing prayer ministry. She reflects on lectio divina, the practice of reading the daily Mass readings the night before as a way of hearing Christ speak to one’s personal circumstances, and closes with a vivid account of serving at a Mother Teresa soup kitchen in San Francisco where she encountered the face of Christ in the men she was serving.
