Needle-free flu vaccine rollout as Super K strain spreads
Published 2 weeks, 4 days ago
Description
Australia faces a potentially severe flu season driven by the highly contagious Super K strain, with influenza deaths already doubling in January compared to last year. New South Wales is now offering a needle-free nasal spray flu vaccine free for children aged two to four, with similar programs rolling out in Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia. Health insurer Bupa is providing 40,000 free flu shots to eligible customers as vaccination rates across Australia have fallen sharply following last year's record flu season.
