A Matter of Facts: How mainstream media lost public trust

Published 2 months, 3 weeks ago
Description

In our previous Matter of Facts mini-series episodes, we looked at out why our brains are vulnerable to misinformation, and how disinformation accelerated by AI is affecting democracies. Today, we examine the public's trust (or lack thereof) in mainstream media.

For decades, news outlets functioned to bridge the gap between the public and those in power. So, how did faith in traditional journalism erode, and what needs to change in how the media operates to start fixing the mess?

Guest: Ulrik Haagerup, founder and CEO of Constructive Institute.
