Daily Devo | The Art of Being a Neighbor (New Testament in a Year, Luke 10:25-42)

Published 2 months, 2 weeks ago
Description

Who is my neighbor? Jesus answers this question with the Parable of the Good Samaritan. The story is rich and deep and has multiple applications but at the very least, it shows us that being a neighbor is to love those whom God puts in our path. With this mindset, interruptions can become opportunities to love in the way that Jesus has loved us. Could this season be an opportunity to let go of something that keeps us too busy to love our neighbors?

This video was originally posted on February 14, 2024 during Lent but serves to continue our current reading plan for "New Testament in a Year".

For Reflection:

- Pastor John highlighted how interruptions can be God-given opportunities to love — ones we might miss if we are too busy. Perhaps we might fast from something that keeps us so busy? Is God perhaps inviting you to take a different step?

- Pastor Chris brought up how we often fail to say "yes" to the opportunity to love even the neighbors closest to us. Has anyone been a good neighbor to you? Is there anyone God has placed in your path with whom you might connect?
