Hermès store targeted in brazen ram raid
Published 2 weeks, 4 days ago
Description
A gang of up to five thieves crashed a white Mercedes SUV into a Hermès store on the corner of Edward and Elizabeth Streets in Brisbane CBD at 3am, stealing high-end handbags, jewellery and clothing. Three robbers entered the store while the Mercedes became wedged in the shopfront, escaping in two other waiting vehicles that were captured on CCTV speeding towards The Valley and crossing the Story Bridge. Individual Hermès handbags can retail for more than $80,000, though the total value of stolen items remains unclear as police work with store staff to determine what was taken.
