Did you know that there remains a rest for the people of God? The rest is entered when a person ceases from his or her own works. It's the end of striving in human strength. The disciples labored sincerely but without rest. Jesus said to them, Sleep on now, take your rest. He was making a way for them to discover where true strength can be found. God's kingdom is not built by you and I staying up late or eating the bread of sorrows. If the Lord is not building the house, our labor is in vain. God calls you and I today to stop trusting in our own efforts and enter into His rest, His finished work. Yield your strength. Yield your plans and your confidence to Him today. It's only through Jesus Christ that we can be carried forward and the kingdom of God can begin to advance through each one of our lives. Take time to talk to God about this today. It's time to pray.
