Description
Emilie Burditt, who previously through-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, will be attempting to set a new self-supported speed record for Wisconsin’s 1,200-mile Ice Age Trail, hiking 55 miles a day for 23 days all on her own. In this interview, Emilie shares the physical, mental, and logistical challenges of this attempt, and how she is preparing. She also seeks to bring attention to the additional risks that women and non-binary people face in the outdoors, and is fundraising for Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN), a non-profit that supports survivors of sexual violence and helps prevent abuse.
