When It Feels Like Our Story Has Ended

Sometimes there’s a quiet dread we carry…

the feeling that the way things are

is the way they will always be.

Today we are reminded, as the women were reminded long ago:

“Do not be afraid, for I know who you are looking for…

He is not here, for he has been raised.”

— Matthew 28:5–6

The women came to the tomb carrying that kind of weight.

Everything had happened so quickly.

Everything they had hoped for seemed lost.

And still—they came.

They brought what they could bring.

They did what they knew to do.

And it was there—

that they saw the miracle.

We begin to see miracles

in the same way—

when we come anyway,

when we bring what we have,

when we do what we can do.

It may not feel like enough.

But that is where

something new begins.
