NSW cracks down on petrol price gouging
Published 2 weeks, 6 days ago
Description
New South Wales Fair Trading has launched an Easter long weekend crackdown on petrol stations failing to pass on fuel excise cuts to consumers. Inspectors have examined 75% of service stations statewide, issuing 93 infringement notices and 15 fines for price gouging. Fuel supply remains problematic with 36 stations completely out of fuel and 158 lacking at least one fuel type, though authorities are encouraging motorists to report price discrepancies via fuelcheck.com.
