Description
Four astronauts recently launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center to embark on a mission around the Moon. But liftoff was just the beginning.
The four astronauts aboard the mission — NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen—have spent their first day in space becoming acquainted with the Orion spacecraft. They set up important life support systems, communicated with Mission Control in Houston, and practiced manually piloting the vehicle.
What’s next? The “translunar injection” burn that commits them on the path of their lunar flyby.
