Story Transcript:

Cy: Ym mhen draw swyddfa anferth, gyda’r golau fflworoleuol yn diferu dros ddesgiau llwydion a phlanhigion mewn potiau, roedd Gethin yn syllu ar y sgrin ei gyfrifiadur.
En: At the far end of the enormous office, with the fluorescent light dripping over gray desks and potted plants, Gethin was staring at his computer screen.

Cy: Roeddem yn y gwanwyn, a’r tywydd tu allan yn brysur bywiogi’r dyddiau.
En: It was spring, and the weather outside was busily enlivening the days.

Cy: Ond er gwaethaf y cyffro naturiol, roedd Gethin yn teimlo’n llethu gan ddiffyg cyffro ei swyddfa.
En: But despite the natural excitement, Gethin felt overwhelmed by the lack of excitement in his office.

Cy: Ond, heblaw un peth.
En: Except for one thing.

Cy: Roedd Gethin yn sicr bod cystadleuaeth gyfrinachol yn y cwmni – y gystadleuaeth tei mwyaf gwirion a ddychymygai ei feddwl.
En: Gethin was sure there was a secret competition in the company - the most ridiculous tie competition his mind could imagine.

Cy: Roedd Gethin yn clustfeinio ar sgwrs rhwng cydweithwyr, siarad am "rhywbeth mawr" sy’n digwydd.
En: Gethin eavesdropped on a conversation between colleagues talking about "something big" happening.

Cy: Heb ddeall yn llawn, llithrodd cysyniad i’w ben: rhaid iddyn nhw fod yn siarad am y gystadleuaeth tei.
En: Without fully understanding, a concept slipped into his mind: they must be talking about the tie competition.

Cy: Dim ond un ffordd oedd i sicrhau ei fuddugoliaeth, meddai wrth ei hun.
En: There was only one way to ensure his victory, he told himself.

Cy: Roedd yn rhaid iddo greu'r tei mwyaf rhyfedd a gweld ym mhob swyddfa gornel.
En: He had to create the most bizarre tie and see it in every corner office.

Cy: Yr un cyntaf i weld ei syniadau wallgof oedd Carys, ei gydweithiwr.
En: The first to see his crazy ideas was Carys, his coworker.

Cy: Roedd hi wastad yn rhoi clust garedig i benderfynion distadl Gethin ac felly ynghlwm ei chytunodd wrth iddo sôn am ei gynlluniau tei.
En: She always lent a kind ear to Gethin's trivial musings, and thus readily agreed as he talked about his tie plans.

Cy: "Dyna syniad cyffrous, Gethin!
En: "That's an exciting idea, Gethin!"

Cy: " meddai Carys yn gynnes.
En: said Carys warmly.

Cy: "Ond gwna siŵr ei fod yn addas i'r swyddfa.
En: "But make sure it's suitable for the office."

Cy: "Dechreuodd Gethin weithio ar ei waith celf bychan, gan bob dydd ddod ag un tei lliwgar ar ôl y llall.
En: Gethin began to work on his small art project, bringing a colorful tie each day.

Cy: Roeddent â delweddau o bysgod coeglyd, adar llachar, a hyd yn oed yn un â chochyn mewn het fath-obi.
En: They featured images of sarcastic fish, bright birds, and even one with a red panda in a bowler hat.

Cy: "Dŵr o'r blisgyn, Gethin!
En: "Shellfish, Gethin!

Cy: Mae'r tei yna'n rhith!
En: That tie is a mirage!"

Cy: " meddai cydweithwyr eraill wrth iddo fynd heibio każ dydd.
En: other colleagues would say as he walked by each day.

Cy: Wrth iddo fynd fwyfwy egsotig gyda'i ddewis tei, roedd Gethin yn dechrau meddwl petai ef mewn gwirionedd yn y gystadleuaeth, oherwydd roedd neb arall yn ymddangos yn rhyfeddu cystal am ei dewis arbennig o het.
En: As he went more exotic with his tie choices, Gethin began to wonder if he was really in the competition, since no one else seemed as aston
