Fuel price relief as states return GST windfall

The Australian government has secured an agreement with state and territory leaders to return GST windfall from fuel prices, adding 5.7 cents per litre to the existing 26 cent fuel excise cut. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced the measure at the National Press Club, along with $1 billion in interest-free loans for manufacturing and fuel businesses affected by the Iran War. New gambling reforms were also unveiled, including caps on TV betting advertisements and bans on gambling ads appearing on sporting jerseys and in stadiums.
