Beven Byrnes is the Executive Director of Bridges Middle School in Portland, Oregon, where she has spent over 25 years in education and nonprofit leadership. Since 2012, she has grown the school into a nationally recognized model for inclusive, student-centered learning, specifically designed for neurodivergent students. A passionate advocate shaped by her personal experience as a neurodivergent parent, Byrnes has raised over $15 million to support inclusive education and works to shift the narrative around neurodiversity—emphasizing strengths, empowerment, and the importance of creating environments where all students can thrive.
