George McPhee, president of hockey operations for the Vegas Golden Knights, has been awarded the Lou Lamoriello Award by the American Hockey Coaches Association. This prestigious honor recognizes ex-college players or coaches who have achieved great success in their professional careers. McPhee, a standout forward at Bowling Green State University, won the Hobey Baker Award in 1982 and played seven years in the NHL. He has held management positions with several teams and became the first general manager for the expansion Golden Knights in 2016.
