Season 3 Published 1 month, 4 weeks ago
Description

Today in History: Messiah celebrated an early Passover seder with his disciples and was later arrested (see Matthew 26:17-56).

At evening, all leaven (“chametz”) is removed from Jewish homes (see Exodus 12:15 and 1 Corinthians 5:6–8). “Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, but on the first day you shall remove leaven from your houses; for whoever eats anything leavened from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel.”

Haman drafted a decree to kill all the Jews eleven months later, during the month of Adar (see Esther 3).

This week's portion is called Pesach (Passover)

TORAH PORTION: Leviticus 9:24–10:11
