The Manager of St. Thérèse’s Relics in Ireland – Marcie Duggan and Mary Hooton

Published 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Description

Mary Hooton visits St. Sylvester’s Parish in Malahide for the unveiling of a shrine to St. Thérèse, where first-class relics of the Little Flower and her parents, Saints Louis and Zélie Martin, are being venerated. She speaks with Marcie Duggan, whose late father Pat Sweeney served for years as the national St. Thérèse relics manager in Ireland and was personally gifted the relics by the Carmel in Lisieux. Marcie shares how the family took up his work after his death in 2022 and have since brought the relics and a rich accompanying exhibition to communities across the country. With the 25th anniversary of the relics’ historic visit to Ireland approaching, this is a beautiful glimpse into a ministry built entirely on little things done for the love of God.
