Description

Welcome to Chronicles of Old Singapore. Physician Wong San Yong relates how his parents migrated from Guangdong to become vegetable farmers in Potong Pasir. He talks about working on the farm when he was five years old and the frequent floods that swept away his family’s vegetables. An introvert, he initially did not know about the student movement in Chinese schools or the rural association that was mobilising the farmers of Potong Pasir.
