It was a brutal series for the San Francisco Giants — and the numbers say it all. Just one run over three games in a historically bad offensive stretch. On today’s Locked On Giants, we break down exactly what went wrong and whether this is just early-season noise or something deeper.

Manager Tony Vitello pointed to something unexpected — his own pre-series message possibly having an impact:

“They’ve been in fifth gear, riding hot, the entire time or too much,” Vitello said, adding that he wanted to see a “relaxed version of this group.”

“I’d kind of put it on me a little bit,” said Vitello. “I got all fire and brimstone a few days ago, and I think some good words were shared, but I also think as of right now it’s a little emotional in there, and there are a lot of try-hards.”

We also discuss whether the Giants are leaning a little too “old school” early on — including lineup decisions like not pinch hitting for Jung Hoo Lee — and whether adjustments could already be coming.

Plus, a look ahead to a tough matchup with the San Diego Padres, featuring stars like Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, Xander Bogaerts, and Jake Cronenworth. If there’s a weakness, it’s pitching — which means the Giants offense has to respond.
