In Direct Israel-Iran Clashes, Jerusalem prosecutors have indicted Ali Jaber, 23, for knowingly maintaining contact with a foreign agent acting on behalf of Iranian intelligence and transmitting information that could be useful to the enemy. The indictment says he came into contact in January with a Telegram user identified as “Joan” after seeking temporary work in a Telegram group. Joan offered paid assignments and told him payment would be made through PayPal; Jaber opened a PayPal account, sent a photograph of his identity card, and was credited with about $80 after photographing a traffic circle near Eilat’s central bus station and sending the image through Telegram. Prosecutors say they may seek a prison sentence if he is convicted.
