The time is now 7:02 AM in New York, I'm Noa Levi and this is the latest Israel Today: Ongoing War Report.

In Operation Lion's Roar, the IDF says it has dropped over 80 munitions on about 40 weapon production sites across Tehran in the past two days, targeting facilities involved in weapon production, research and development for weapons used to attack Israel. The strikes covered long‑range surface‑to‑air missile components, anti‑tank and small anti‑aircraft missile parts, and ballistic missile engines. The army also said it hit Iranian weapon manufacturing sites in Tehran overnight between Saturday and Sunday, including a central site used by Iran's Defense Ministry to produce critical ballistic missile components, one of only two such sites in Iran, along with other weapon production and storage facilities, a drone engine production facility, and an air defense development facility. Power outages were reported in Tehran and Karaj after an attack on a high‑voltage tower in Alborz province, with damage described as resulting from shrapnel.

In Iranian Retaliation, Haifa refinery was said to be hit in the latest Iranian missile barrage, with shrapnel striking the facility and causing localized damage and temporary power disruptions, though no casualties were reported. The IDF said search and rescue forces, both reserve and regular, were en route to a site in northern Israel where impacts were reported, and a gasoline tank was burning in the refinery complex producing thick smoke, though officials said there was no risk to the surrounding population from hazardous materials. The Haifa municipality confirmed there was no suspicion of hazardous materials and urged residents nearby to close windows. Separately, reports indicate a Sunday strike hit the industrial zone of Ne’ot. Iran also conducted attacks in Kuwait, hitting a power plant and a desalination facility; a Indian national worker was killed in that strike. Diplomatic channels remain active with Pakistan, Turkey and Egypt as intermediaries, but there are no direct Washington‑Tehran talks yet. White House officials stressed that military preparations do not signal a final decision, even as thousands of American troops surround Iran and options are kept ready for action.

In the Conflict with Iran and its Regional Proxies, the IDF announced the death of Sergeant Liran Ben Zion, 19, from Holon, in combat operations in southern Lebanon, with an armored corps officer severely wounded and evacuated for treatment; Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered condolences to Ben Zion’s family, praising his service to the country. The IDF also said it struck a Hezbollah cell in southern Lebanon over the weekend that was operating an ambulance while posing as paramedics, accusing Hezbollah of cynically using ambulances to transfer weapons and to conceal activity, including moving weapons and transporting fighters in combat zones in violation of protections for medical facilities and personnel. In the north, the latest barrage, likely from Hezbollah, produced observed impacts in Shfar’am, a city with a predominantly Arab Muslim population. Meanwhile, sirens have been sounding in southern Israel as part of ongoing missile alerts.

In US Policy Concerning Israel, President Donald Trump said the United States may seize Iranian oil, as Washington considers capturing Kharg Island, Iran’s primary oil export hub. Tehran meanwhile rejected US terms as “excessive,” saying the envoy will not leave Lebanon; Iran and the US have exchanged messages via Pakistan as Tehran accuses Washington of shifting positions, with Iran’s vice president suggesting the US is “begging” to negotiate on Hormuz, just days before a set deadline amid a standoff with Lebanon over its envoy.
