Description
In this illustrated fairy tale, a father bequeaths a talking cat to his youngest son, Tom, while leaving money to his other children. Although Tom initially finds the pet useless, the clever cat guides him through a series of royal challenges to determine the king’s successor. By using strategic shortcuts and scientific tricks, the cat helps Tom win a counting game and a weighted race across a river. However, Tom’s arrogance and lack of gratitude upon winning ultimately backfire when the monarch realizes who the true mastermind was. The story concludes with a twist where the monarch crowns the cat as the new ruler, leaving the ungrateful Tom to serve as the feline’s personal boot polisher.
