What to expect from the energy MOU's first big test

What to expect from the energy MOU's first big test

Published 1 month, 1 week ago
Description

Alberta Edge's Amber Ruddy and Keith McLaughlin say missing some of the April 1 deadlines tied to the federal–provincial MOU does not necessarily mean a bitumen pipeline to the West Coast is off the table. They argue the pipeline process is now running on a separate but related track from the Pathways Plus carbon capture proposal. The two political strategists believe Prime Minister Mark Carney still has time—and political runway—to turn this into both an economic and national unity project. However, the opportunity won't last forever.
