The Love Machine nightclub in Prahran, Melbourne, was destroyed by an arson attack at 2am, with offenders smashing through a roller door, spreading accelerant on the first floor, and setting the building ablaze. It took 45 firefighters almost two and a half hours to bring the inferno under control. The club has a violent history, including a 2019 drive-by shooting that killed two people and multiple incidents linked to outlaw motorcycle club members, and had been closed for months due to liquor licensing and safety issues.
