दारिद्र्यकारणात् विद्याभ्यासं प्राप्तुम् अशक्नुवन् कश्चन निर्धनकुलीयः मेषपालकः बालकः मेषान् तृणचरणे नियोज्य विद्यालयस्य वातायनस्य पार्श्वे स्थित्वा अध्यापकस्य पाठान् श्रद्धया शृणोति स्म । अथ कदाचित् शिक्षणाधिकारी तं विद्यालयं परीक्षितुम् आगतः । तेन पृष्टस्य कस्यापि प्रश्ननस्य उत्तरं न कोSपि दत्तवान् । वातायनात् बहिः स्थितः बालकः 'अहं प्रश्नानाम् उत्तराणि वदामि' इत्युक्त्वा सर्वेषां प्रश्नानाम् उत्तरं दत्तवान् । तस्य प्रतिभावतः बालकस्य विद्याभ्यासस्य व्यवस्थां कृतवान् सः अधिकारी । तस्य बालकस्य नाम राधाविनोदपालः । अग्रिमे काले सः विधिशास्त्रम् अधीत्य भारतीयव्यवस्थानिर्माणे विशेषपात्रम् ऊढवान् । द्वितीयजागतिकयुद्धकाले अन्ताराष्ट्रीयन्यायाधीशत्वेन अपि कार्यम् अकरोत् ।

A poor shepherd boy could not attend school because of poverty. While grazing his sheep near the school window, he listened attentively to the teacher’s lessons. One day, an education officer came to inspect the school. When no student could answer his questions, the boy outside said, “I will answer them,” and correctly solved them all. Impressed by his talent, the officer arranged for his education. The boy’s name was Radhavinod Pal. Later, he studied law, played an important role in shaping India’s legal system, and even served as an international judge during World War II.
