Sl: Matej je stopil iz taksija in globoko vdihnil spomladanski zrak Ljubljane.
En: Matej stepped out of the taxi and took a deep breath of the spring air of Ljubljana.

Sl: Danes je Prešernov dan, kulturni praznik, in mesto je živahno.
En: Today is Prešeren's Day, the cultural holiday, and the city is lively.

Sl: Na ulicah so cvetoča drevesa, ljudje se smejijo, jaz pa se pripravlja na veliko vrnitev.
En: The streets are lined with blooming trees, people laughing, while he prepares for a grand return.

Sl: Pred njim stoji staro mestno jedro, kjer si nekoč kot otrok sanjaril, medtem ko ga je mamila aroma sveže kuhane kave iz lokalne kavarne.
En: Before him stands the old town center, where as a child he once dreamed, lured by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee from a local café.

Sl: Ko vstopi v kavarno, vidi, da ni dosti spremenjena.
En: When he enters the café, he sees that little has changed.

Sl: Lesene omare in stoletni stoli, ki škripajo pod težo spominov, ga pozdravijo nazaj.
En: The wooden cabinets and century-old chairs, creaking under the weight of memories, welcome him back.

Sl: Sedeta za mizo.
En: They sit down at a table.

Sl: Njuno klepetanje zveni kot stare melodije, ki jih nobeno leto ni uničilo.
En: Their conversation sounds like old melodies that no amount of time has ruined.

Sl: Kava prihaja, vroča in dišeča, ko udari novi val nostalgije.
En: The coffee comes, hot and fragrant, striking a new wave of nostalgia.

Sl: Nenadoma vrata kavarne zaškripajo in vstopi Jure.
En: Suddenly, the café door creaks, and Jure enters.

Sl: Njegova prisotnost napolni prostor.

Sl: Matej začuti napetost.
