Mohammad Zargarvafa appeared in Southport Court facing charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle and evading police after allegedly ramming a bus carrying the Iranian women's soccer team on the Gold Coast. The incident occurred as the team travelled from Royal Pines to Coolangatta Airport following their elimination from the Women's Asian Cup, amid controversy over players not singing Iran's national anthem. Seven players were offered humanitarian visas, with two ultimately remaining in Australia.
