So what is better a sloop or a ketch?

I owned a offshore sailing yacht a sloop, I now tank a offshore sailing tank an alloy ketch built tuff back in the 70's.

Reflecting on why I now own a alloy Ketch - blisters, ship wrecked in ice, beaten against a wharf in a storm, older boats are tuffer and used beautiful wood.
