The Associated Students of Madison represents all UW-Madison students, yet the 2026 spring election saw only a 4% student voter turnout. ASM has helped secure initiatives like 24-hour libraries, mandatory pre-exam study days and caps on tuition increases, along with distributing bus passes, operating the Open Seat Food Pantry and helping fund Registered Student Organizations.
