Matters of the Heart - Part 3 - Sowing and Reaping by Pastor Steve Dow on Sunday, March 22, 2026
Published 1 month ago
Description
In this powerful conclusion to the "Matters of the Heart" series, we explore the spiritual principles of sowing and reaping. Many of us treat God’s blessings like a reservoir—something to be dammed up and stored—rather than a river intended to flow through us to others. By examining the condition of our "heart soil," we can understand why some lives produce a bumper crop while others remain dry and dusty. This message challenges us to stop eating our seed and start trusting the Master of Multiplication.
-- The Principle of Proportionality: The harvest you receive is always directly tied to the amount of seed you are willing to sow; you cannot expect a bumper crop from a stingy hand.
-- Conduits vs. Containers: God’s grace is designed to flow through us to touch others; when we try to hoard His blessings, we stop the flow of multiplication in our own lives.
-- The Danger of Consuming the Seed: If we use our resources solely for our own passions and desires, we leave nothing in the ground to grow for our future.
-- Soil Condition Matters: The Word of God can only produce a harvest if our hearts are "good ground," free from the hard-packed soil of pride or the thorns of worldly distraction.
-- Deep Plowing for Great Harvests: Just like a successful farmer, we must be willing to do the hard work of "plowing deep"—turning over the soil of our character to bury the weeds of the past.
