Clare MEP Warns Govt To Prepare For "Massive Food Increases"
Published 1 month ago
Description
European leaders met in Brussels late last week for a summit to tackle the sharp rise in energy prices, driven in part by ongoing instability in the Middle East.
The EU is now looking at a range of measures, including cutting electricity taxes and allowing governments more flexibility to support households and businesses.
But what will that mean for people here in Ireland—and what should our representatives be pushing for at European level?
Alan Morrissey was joined by Ireland South MEPs, Independent Michael McNamara and Fianna Fáil’s Billy Kelleher to find out.
