മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ചെറ്റത്തരം പരാമർശത്തിനെതിരെ ആഞ്ഞടിച്ച് ജി.സുധാകരൻ. ചെറ്റ എന്ന് വിളിച്ചതിൽ താൻ അഭിമാനം കൊള്ളുന്നുവെന്ന് അമ്പലപ്പുഴയിലെ UDF യോഗത്തിൽ നടത്തിയ പ്രസംഗത്തിൽ സുധാകരൻ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിക്ക് മറുപടി നൽകി. കണ്ണൂരിൽ  ജയിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന മണ്ഡലത്തിൽ നിന്നാൽ ആർക്കും ജയിക്കാമെന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയെ പരിഹസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു സുധാകരൻ. ജനകീയ സ്വതന്ത്രൻ എന്ന വിശേഷണവുമായി  യുഡിഎഫ് വേദികളിൽ സുധാകരൻ സജീവമായി.

G. Sudhakaran has strongly hit back at the Chief Minister's "Chettatharam" (mean/vile act) comment. During a speech at a UDF meeting in Ambalappuzha, Sudhakaran replied that he takes pride in being called a "Chetta."He further mocked the Chief Minister, stating that anyone can win if they contest from a safe seat in Kannur where victory is guaranteed. Sudhakaran has now become active on UDF platforms, carrying the title of a "Popular Independent" candidate
