The time is now 12:02 PM in New York, I'm Noa Levi and this is the latest Israel Today: Ongoing War Report.

In Direct Israel-Iran Clashes, central Israel experienced shrapnel fallout after an Iranian missile launch triggered sirens across central and northern Israel. Shrapnel was reported at four sites in central Israel: Or Yehuda, Bat Yam, and two locations in Holon, causing damage to property and infrastructure in Holon and Bat Yam. Magen David Adom reported no injuries or fatalities from the shrapnel in these locations. The Israel Fire and Rescue Authority noted a fire in Bat Yam and minor property damage. Earlier on Sunday, at least 15 people were wounded in seven sites of impacts by Iranian ballistic missile fragments across Tel Aviv and central Israel as Operation Roaring Lion entered its fourth week, with a 53-year-old man moderately hurt by a shockwave and three others treated for shock. In Misgav Am, one person was killed in a direct hit on his vehicle attributed to Hezbollah fire earlier in the day. IDF Rescue forces were responding to several impact sites across central Israel— likely caused by cluster submunitions or falling fragments following Iran’s seventh ballistic missile attack since midnight— with damage reported in Bat Yam and Holon but no injuries reported by Magen David Adom. Meanwhile, IAF strikes in Tehran continued in a wide-scale wave targeting security bodies, including a military base used for training soldiers and storing missile systems intended to target aircraft; a weapons production and storage facility of the Ministry of Defense; a weapons production site of the IRGC’s Air Force; and the HQ of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and the emergency HQ of the Internal Security Forces.

In Iranian Retaliation, Iran reportedly warned that if the US strikes its power plants, it will respond by fully closing the Strait of Hormuz and launching widespread attacks on Israeli and regional energy infrastructure, as well as US-linked assets.

In US Military Role, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the government has plenty of money to fund the war against Iran but is seeking supplemental funding from Congress to ensure the military is well supplied in the future. The administration has been reported as pursuing about $200 billion in additional funding, a request facing stiff opposition in Congress from Democrats and some Republicans after large defense appropriations last year. Bessent defended the request without confirming the amount, saying, “We have plenty of money to fund this war,” and noted that the supplemental funding would help ensure the military remains well equipped going forward.

In Regional Impacts, Channel 13 reports that senior officials at Ben Gurion Airport are recommending the immediate closure of Israeli airspace amid the ongoing war, with an urgent meeting expected involving airport, security, police, and Transportation Ministry officials. The final decision rests with the Israeli government and Transportation Minister Miri Regev following consultations.

In the Conflict with Iran and its Regional Proxies, Lebanon’s death toll since the current round of fighting between Hezbollah and Israel stands at 1,029, with 605 identified as Hezbollah militants. The majority of the medical personnel are said to belong to Hezbollah’s Islamic Health Authority, yielding a combatant-to-civilian ratio above 1.5 to 1, with women and children noted among the families of the terrorists. In addition, a report in Hebrew notes an attack on the Al-Kasmiya Bridge in southern Lebanon from another angle, with two comments recorded.

In the US Policy Concerning Israel, queries over lifting sanctions on Iranian oil are addressed by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who sa
