My Vegan Transition Story - From Farmer to Fit Vegan Coach

Season 1 Episode 68 Published 4 years, 8 months ago
Description

“Veganism opened a whole new world to me in terms of different ways of living of compassion and empathy because as I progressed in my vegan journey, I started to develop more empathy and compassion obviously for animals but also for other people around me. I started becoming more in tune with my emotions. I started to realize that there's a different way of living - that we don't have to constantly be living this way.” - Maxime Sigouin

Welcome to The Fit Vegan Podcast, I’m your host, Maxime Sigouin! In this episode, I will finally discuss my transformational journey from farming to becoming a vegan coach. Growing up unaware of the flaws of the conventional eating habits, I started with the aim of looking thin enough to fit in the clothes I have to wear. From there, I slowly and painstakingly figured out the better reason to stay vegan and cultivated a sustainable habit that led me to a healthier lifestyle in light of this advocacy.

Key Quotes

“That initial year of me being vegan, I learned so much because I think the first few months were just eating fruits and vegetables, because I just want to lose as much weight as possible.” - Maxime Sigouin

“Once I started the process of becoming skinny, and I started watching those documentaries with heart disease and cancer and I was like holy shit, this does make sense because my grandfather passed away from cancer and it was eating a really unhealthy diet and it was at a time when my little cousin got cancer as well and like there was so many connections that were made in my brain.” - Maxime Sigouin
