Elizabeth Thomas and Elizabeth Smart, two young girls whose disappearances sparked massive searches and captured national attention. In 2002, 14-year-old Elizabeth Smart was abducted from her Utah home and held captive for nine months before being safely recovered in March 2003. Years later, in 2017, 15-year-old Elizabeth Thomas disappeared from Tennessee with her former teacher, Tad Cummins, triggering a nationwide manhunt that ended 38 days later in Northern California.
