Episode 110 Published 1 week ago
Description

What are relative pronouns and why do they matter? ✨

In Luxembourgish - or any language - relative pronouns help you:

1️⃣ Point out clearly the person or thing being referred to

Beispill: D’Meedchen, dat gëschter operéiert ginn ass, huet 8 Joer.

2️⃣ Add extra information about that person or thing

Beispill: Den Dokter, deen op der Intensivstatioun schafft, ass ganz jonk.

In grammatical terms, relative pronouns connect a dependent (relative) clause to the main clause.

Am Beispill: Den Dokter, deen op der Intensivstatioun schafft, ass ganz jonk, the relative clause is “deen op der Intensivstatioun schafft,” and the main clause is “Den Dokter ass ganz jonk”

Understanding relative pronouns is key to making your sentences more precise and fluent—both in writing and speaking.

Unlock practical examples and tips you can use today to sound more fluent in Luxembourgish!
