March 15th - Culture | People Are The Mission by Jeremy Weedman

Published 2 months, 1 week ago
Description

In this episode, we explore what it means to stop seeing people as distractions to our "real calling" and recognize that people are the calling. Using Jesus' parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10, we look at how the priest and Levite weren't evil—they were busy, on their way to do ministry—and how easily we, too, can cross the road to avoid other people's pain in the name of serving God.

Drawing from Genesis, Cain's question "Am I my brother's keeper?", and Jesus' summary of the law—to love God with all our heart and love our neighbor as ourselves—this message reframes our everyday interruptions as divine appointments. You'll hear stories from gas stations, restaurants, and shuttle rides that reveal how the Holy Spirit is already at work in our ordinary paths, inviting us to show up, get people's "blood on our donkeys," and live quiet yet deeply connected lives of love.
