Meditation Master: Julian of Norwich

Meditation Master: Julian of Norwich

Episode 71 Published 2 months ago
Description

In this meditation, I reflect on the teaching of Julian of Norwich, one of the great contemplative voices of the Christian tradition.

Julian lived a life devoted to prayer and meditation, and she is remembered above all for a phrase that has echoed through centuries: All shall be well.

In this practice we allow those words to accompany the breath. As we settle into stillness and become aware of the rhythm of breathing, the phrase becomes a gentle mantra, reminding us of the deep goodness that lies at the heart of existence.

With each breath we allow the words to expand quietly within awareness. The practice invites us to move beyond anxiety and narrow self-concern, opening instead toward peace, compassion and the well-being of all.

Meditation in this sense is not a form of withdrawal, but a way of energising our presence in the world.

This meditation offers a moment of calm, whether you are pausing during the day or winding down before sleep, helping you rest in trust, peace and compassionate awareness.
