When We Come Back to Life

“I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live…” — Ezekiel 37:14

Sometimes we encounter moments

when things feel so far gone

we can’t see a way back.

That was the vision of the dry bones—

scattered, disconnected, lifeless.

No flesh.

No connection.

No life.

And yet, even then,

what seemed lifeless

was not without hope.

The Spirit of the Lord first brought the bones back together.

What was scattered was reconnected.

And finally, breath—

the Spirit filling them with life again.

So often, the turning point begins the same way.

We reconnect.

We restore what has been broken.

We begin to build one another up.

And in that space—

the Spirit of the Lord,

the breath of life within and among us,

brings us back to life.
