Life Issues - Wyoming Enacts Heartbeat Bill

Life Issues - Wyoming Enacts Heartbeat Bill

Published 1 month, 1 week ago
Description

The state of Wyoming has been caught in an ongoing battle to defend the lives of the unborn. In January the state’s Supreme Court struck down two pro-life laws, one which banned abortion pills, and one which attempted to ban nearly all abortions.

Following the Court’s decision, Wyoming lawmakers have fought to find a way to protect innocent life.

In an effort to do so, HB 126 has been signed into law banning abortion once a heartbeat is detectable, at about 6 weeks.

While the governor is concerned that the legislation will invite more litigation, we are hopeful that they law will protect unborn babies. Our efforts to defend life must continue in all fifty states, included cases like Wyoming where creative approaches are needed.
