Reno Celebrates New ADA-Compliant Sidewalks

Published 2 weeks ago
Description

Join the City of Reno in celebrating the completion of the Plumas Street Sidewalk Improvement Project, a $1 million, two-phase initiative that has built ADA-compliant sidewalks along the west side of Plumas Street. The project, funded by the RTC Washoe Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program and federal dollars, has created a smooth walkway from the Reno Tennis Center to just past Brinkby Avenue, improving pedestrian access and safety. Local leaders, including Ward two Councilmember Naomi Duerr, will be present at the event to highlight the benefits of this upgrade. Phase two, which added about 1,320 feet of new sidewalk, was awarded to Q and D Construction for $425,000.
